- Checked customer's concern, scanned vehicle for codes and found code P0301 Misfire on cylinder 1, performed visual inspection to engine bay and cooling system and found vehicle had some type of white sealant in coolant system but not the color or smell of proper coolant. Using a combustion tester checked for blown head gasket and vehicle fail test, pressure test cooling system and removed spark plug on cylinder number 1 after several hours inspected for coolant contamination inside cylinder and found the same type of sealant inside the cylinder, performed leak down test to the same cylinder and confirm blown head gasket, use a bore scope camera to inspect the inside of cylinder and found sealant started to eaten (damaged) the top part of piston and the cylinder walls have deep scratches suspecting from coolant siting in cylinder for a long time with out vehicle starting and starting to corrode the cylinder walls. (note vehicle possible sat for a long time.) At this point for better outcome recommend replacing engine assembly and exterior cooling system components. Pictures and video have being send to customer.
